Porsche Thinking Of New Hypercar With Next-Generation Battery

Porsche’s pioneering demonstration of the excitement that hybrids can offer with the release of the 918 Spyder has yet to be succeeded, and it seems that this will continue for the foreseeable future. While Porsche did produce a road-going 919 Hybrid in the form of the 919 Street clay model in 2017, it never materialized into a production model. Marcos Marques, Project Manager eFuels at Porsche, recently revealed that the company had planned a flagship model with a flat-eight, twin-turbo 5.0-liter engine producing 750 horsepower, but that model was ultimately not produced. It’s clear that the void left by the 918 Spyder’s departure in 2015 will not be filled anytime soon.
